Chef Louay’s career began in Syria’s major cities of Damascus & Allepo where he developed his creative culinary skills
Wanting a challenge, Chef Louay moved to Dubai & worked in the kitchens of world-class luxurious hotels – working along side some of the best chefs from all walks of life.
Chef Louay worked on many functions assigned by the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs International Association of Gastronomy including the Royal family of Abu Dhabi and other influential people & organisations.
He won multiple awards including, Best Arab Chef at the Dubai Gulfood Exhibition & being one of the 4 finalists for the Best Executive Chef in the United Arab Emirates.
Being in the culinary industry for over 20 years & now with a family, Chef Louay has moved to Sydney & is the new Executive Chef at Zaitoune Mezza & Grill. Chef Louay brings with him the experience & knowledge of Syrian, Lebanese, Mediterranean & international food cuisine.

We have introduced our amazing 1/2 meter and 1 metre Mezza boards for those special occasions. We also have a range of Frappe’s from the original coffee frappe to our delicious fruit frappe’s.
Our decor has a warm and charming earthy feel with the most welcoming atmosphere, so come on in and see us and say hello to Arnald, Michael and the crew and we will be more than happy to share with you our home.
Zaitoune will share with you the best of our cuisine, using recipes that have been passed down from one generation to the next, adding a modern flair to the dishes. Our goal is to provide more than a meal, but an atmosphere with a cultural experience and truly and unforgettable middle eastern dining experience.
Our food is cooked with fresh local and seasonal products and also some of which is grown in our own productive Vegetable garden. Zaitoune is committed to a handmade concept of food, maintaining and preserving all the traditional flavours that we have been taught by our parents.
